Bonney Staffing has partnered with a Personal Injury Law Firm that is dedicated to not only helping their clients seek the compensation they need to cover their medical bills and other lost wages, but to serve as their compassionate partner every step of the way as each client recovers and fights to get back the life they had before the accident.
The Legal Assistant position in Portland, Maine is responsible for regularly calling clients to update them on their cases, answering general questions about the claims process, working closely with Attorneys handling each claim, assisting with logistical challenges and billing issues, requesting medical records and billing documents with follow up, reviewing evidence, and other duties that may be assigned. This is a full time position but could be part time for the right candidate.
Legal Assistant Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills including typing
Ability to manage and prioritize around tight deadlines
Ability to work with teammates to assure the client is always the number one priority
Comfortable with change and rapidly shifting priorities
Comfortable with current office tools and technology
Must have a great positive attitude
Must thrive on helping people who are in a difficult situation
Applicants with prior work experience in the following fields are encouraged to apply: medical records clerk, social work, counseling, customer service and/or sales and telephone marketing
Bilingual abilities in Spanish/English are helpful but not necessary
Legal Assistant Details:
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m to 5:15 p.m
Pay Rate: $19/Hr.
