Legal Assistant
Description We are on the lookout for a diligent Legal Assistant to join our team in the legal industry, located in Arlington, Virginia. As a Legal Assistant, your main responsibilities will be to support our legal professionals in delivering high-quality legal services, manage case files, prepare and file legal documents, and ensure effective communication between clients and attorneys. Responsibilities: • Facilitate professional and empathetic support to clients dealing with family law issues. • Oversee the scheduling of consultations and manage case files diligently. • Foster effective communication channels between clients and attorneys to ensure seamless service delivery. • Prepare, review, and file legal documents with Virginia, Maryland, and DC courts, ensuring all procedures are accurately followed. • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and properly archived. • Track and manage the calendar for court appearances, meetings, and other critical dates, ensuring no deadlines are missed. • Handle client billing processes and ensure accurate records are maintained. • Utilize various software including Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), and Case Management Software for efficient operations. • Administer claim administration and calendar management. • Foster strong client relations and maintain clear communication channels. Requirements • Possess at least 1 year of experience in a legal assistant role or similar position • Proficiency in using Aderant and Adobe Acrobat software • Electronic court filing experience • Experience in utilizing Case Management Software and CompuLaw • Ability to handle billing functions and calendar management efficiently • Experience in claim administration and maintaining client relations • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal • Knowledge in Family Law • High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Willingness to continue learning and improving relevant legal knowledge.
