Legal Assistant
Description We are in search of a Legal Assistant in Arlington, Virginia. The successful candidate will play an essential role in our legal team, focusing on transactional law and corporate governance. This role involves a multitude of responsibilities, including managing legal documents, assisting attorneys, and ensuring effective communication with clients. Responsibilities: • Assist with various aspects of transactional law, focusing particularly on corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions. • Manage and process all legal documents and official communications in a timely manner to ensure seamless operations. • Prepare, file, and manage documents with the State Corporation Commission, including articles of incorporation, amendments, and annual reports. • Foster professional communication with clients, providing updates and addressing inquiries promptly and efficiently. • Coordinate schedules, meetings, and billing, and perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the transactional team. • Use legal software such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), Case Management Software, and CompuLaw to facilitate efficient case management. • Implement and manage billing functions, calendar management, claim administration, and client relations tasks. • Utilize strong communication skills to foster effective relationships with clients and team members. • Apply knowledge of corporate law to assist attorneys in handling cases and managing client relations. Requirements • Proven experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role within a law firm. • Proficiency in case management software and other legal-related software such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), and CompuLaw. • Capability to handle billing functions and calendar management efficiently. • Experience in claim administration and maintaining client relations. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Solid understanding and experience in corporate law. • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively. • High level of professionalism and confidentiality. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
