Legal Assistant
Description We are in search of a Legal Assistant to support our law firm client on a remote, part-time basis. This role is within the legal industry, with a focus on tax controversy. The Legal Assistant will be tasked with the organization and management of legal documents, drafting engagement letters, and providing support in task management. This position offers a long term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Organize and manage legal documents, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. • Utilize Clio for drafting engagement letters and other legal documents. • Provide support in task management, ensuring files are well-organized and accessible. • Leverage skills in Adobe Acrobat for various tasks, ensuring proficiency and efficiency. • Draw on communication and client relations skills to resolve customer inquiries and maintain customer accounts. • Utilize Aderant and other case management software for efficient handling of cases. • Execute billing functions and claim administration tasks as required. • Apply knowledge in Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) and CompuLaw as necessary. • Draft legal documents, ensuring they are accurate and compliant with legal standards. • Maintain a strong tax background to support work in tax controversy, though this is not a mandatory requirement. Requirements • 2 years of paralegal experience • Proficiency in using Aderant for legal practice management • Ability to use Adobe Acrobat for document handling and management • Knowledge of Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) for property transactions • Familiarity with Case Management Software to effectively manage legal proceedings • Proficiency in CompuLaw for managing deadlines and avoiding malpractice risks • Ability to handle Billing Functions efficiently and accurately • Expertise in Calendar Management to organize and schedule appointments and meetings • Experience in Claim Administration for handling legal claims • Strong detail oriented Relations skills to maintain and nurture relationships • Excellent Communication skills for effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders • Ability to Draft Legal Documents accurately and efficiently • Extensive knowledge in handling Legal Documentation, ensuring compliance with legal procedures • Proficiency in using Clio for legal practice management and client intake.
