Legal Assistant/ Jr. Paralegal
The Legal Assistant/Junior Paralegal provides support to the Legal Department in responding to day-today inquiries and needs from the field. This position is responsible for independently researching andresolving various legal issues.

Competitive pay, tenured PTO program & weekly paychecksHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) savings plan with company matchingEmployee discount program; partnered with hundreds of vendors nationwideAwards and recognition programOpportunity for career advancementComprehensive training and mentorship programEssential Responsibilities:Intakes, investigates and resolves incoming calls/emails to the Legal Department on matters such as patient rights, family-related concerns, discharges, against-medical-advice issues, etc.Independently handles various legal questions and concernsCoordinates responses to subpoenas and other requests for patient and personnel records in order to ensure compliance with state/federal privacy laws, including HIPAAConducts legal research as neededReceives, review sand responds to various inquiries from internal and external sources, including, without limitation, patients and state/federal oversight agenciesActs as a liaison between the Legal Department and other internal departments to support legal and compliance effortsPerforms other duties as assigned/necessaryMinimum Requirements:Paralegal certificate or similar degree in Paralegal studies preferredCollege degree preferred but not required3 to 5 years of legal experience in either a law firm or in-house setting, with a focus on healthcareAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent organizational, written and verbal skills, with the ability to quickly analyze issues and craft practical, business-oriented solutionsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to consistently meet deadlines with high quality work product in a fast-paced environmentAbility to interact and communicate effectively with all areas and levels of the organization and outside counsel.Ability to use judgment, tact and discretionProficiency in all Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be requiredAbility to interact effectively with all areas and levels of the organizationWage / Salary Information: $45,000 - $50,000 annually, with a $5,000 annual bonus potential*Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t
