Legal Assistant/Office Manager

Job Description: Our client, a small, reputable law firm in Bronxville, NY, is seeking a long-term temp Legal Assistant/ Office Manager to assist their attorney! This role starts ASAP, with an open-ended temp contract with potential to convert to perm if it's a mutual fit. This role is fully onsite, Monday thru Friday, with a standard schedule of 9am-5pm (with flexibility) and a 30-minute lunch break. Hourly pay rate is $30-35/hr DOE.

Qualifications:

At least 2+ years of administrative experience out of a law firm. Must be an NY Notary (hard requirement)!Strong writing skills.Great client/ customer service skills - must be comfortable on the phones and meeting/greeting clients in the office.Proficiency with the MS Office SuiteMust be tech-savvy!Must be comfortable working independently - some days they might be in the office with just 1 other person.Basic math skills.QuickBooks experience ideal.Experience with document management software.A huge plus would be experience with real estate and/or trust and estate, and a familiarity with drafting wills!

Paralegal/Legal Assistant Responsibilities

Real Estate transactions: contracts of sale, closing prep, client and peer interfacing throughout the process. Estate planning: document creation of wills, living wills, power of attorney forms, health care proxies. Notarization of legal docs (NY Notary license) Writing affidavits and other documents Filing documents with Surrogate's Court, Attorney General's office, etc. Legal research (as needed) Covering basic roles for office manager when they are not in

Office Manager / Admin Responsibilities

Answering the phone, opening mail, welcoming guests Managing client relationships Maintaining office schedule, setting up appointments Reconciling financial books, entering data into QuickBooks Paying bills and invoices, ordering supplies Taking notes / transcribing letters, running errands for bank deposits, shipping, etc Must be able to lift 50 lbs. (water cooler replacement and boxes) Bonus points: NY notary
