Job Overview Our team of Legal Assistants establish a collaborative partnership with our Workers' Compensation Attorneys and Case Managers to always provide superior service to our clients. Legal Assistant Duties & Responsibilities + Filing claims with the Division of Workers' Compensation in KS and MO + Assist in monitoring the progression of each claim + Research employers' insurers + Set up claims with insurance company and injured worker + Respect HIPPA laws and privacy of all cases and clients + Gather information from Insurance adjusters + Mail correspondence to parties involved - clients, employer, insurance companies + Scan and organize medical records, sending to doctors as requested + File motions + Submit invoices + Prep settlement check packages for disbursement + Save and file mail that is scanned into SharePoint + Continuous updating of case management software + Create and send Letters of Representation and draft other standard documentation Knowledge and Skills + Committed to providing outstanding responsive and compassionate client service + Excellent grammar, punctuation, spelling, and proofreading skills + Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills + Consistently deliver results with a sense of urgency + Maintain and manage highly sensitive information + Outstanding time management and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines Employee Perks + Stability - Become an integral member of an energetic team in a growing law firm + A position with upward mobility and a team who will help you grow into new roles + Benefits package – Health, Vision & Dental Insurance and 401(k) matching + 3 weeks (120) hours of paid time off (PTO) + Paid holidays + FREE on-site parking garage + Work/Life balance – doing the job you love, working with great people and NOT working long, crazy hours!
