Mercer Canada is seeking a Legal Consultant, hybrid opportunity, based in our Toronto, Calgary, or Montreal office.

The legal advisor supports Mercer consultants so that they can provide Mercer clients with appropriate consulting services concerning the legal aspects of registered pension plans, savings plans and employee benefits.

Manage projects of varying degrees of complexity and scope with respect to registered pension plans, savings plans, taxation and benefits.Assist in developing pension, savings plans and employee benefit documents. Collaborate with clients and their legal counsel to find practical solutions to matters relating to retirement savings arrangements and employee benefits.Inform Mercer consultants and clients of legal developments and participate in training and professional development activities.Demonstrate flexibility by working independently as well as in a team with Mercer legal and tax professionals and other Mercer consultants.What you need to have:
JD or LL.B & called to the Bar3+ years of experience in pension and employee benefit law, or has worked for a minimum of five years in a related legal field, and demonstrates a keen interest in pension and employee benefit lawRelevant experience in taxation will be considered an assetStrong communication skills both verbal and writtenWhat makes you stand out:
