This role is for a highly motivated and detail-oriented attorney, preferably with a healthcare or life sciences background, to join our legal team.  The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing legal guidance and support including litigation and other contested matters, commercial contracting, and global employee relations.  This role reports directly to the VP, Deputy General Counsel and is an excellent opportunity for a talented attorney looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic and innovative healthcare-focused organization.

Please note this is a remote-based role and the ideal candidate will be East Coast based, preferably near one of our US-based offices in either Lexington MA, Bridgewater NJ or Memphis TN.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with internal stakeholders to achieve business objectives while managing and mitigating legal risks.Provide legal support to U.S. Deputy General Counsel in connection with litigation and other potential and active disputes.Manage external counsel including effective budget management.Collaborate with business colleagues and members of the legal team and contract managers to draft, review, and manage day-to-day sales, procurement, and other commercial agreements.Review sales and marketing materials to ensure legal compliance and adequate substantiation.Provide employment law support to human resources colleagues and Chief Compliance Officer.Collaborate with cross-functional legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and practices that comply with applicable laws and regulations.Conduct training sessions and provide educational resources to employees and managers on legal matters to promote legal awareness and compliance within the organization.

About You

Education/Qualifications:

Law degree from an ABA-accredited law schoolAdmission to the bar in the state of New Jersey or another state, and eligible for in-house counsel registration.Five (5) or more years of experience as an attorney, preferably in healthcare, life sciences, or a related industry, with a focus on litigation and employment law.Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state laws and regulations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and group presentation skills.Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal advice and counsel to global business partners within varied functions and global business unitsHigh degree of professionalism, integrity, and ethical behavior.

Travel Requirements:       

The position may require limited business travel within the U.S., with occasional visits to Canada and Europe.  Travel is not expected to exceed 15% of the time for the position.
