Legal Counsel
Sandvik Manufacturing Solutions (SMF) is on an exciting growth journey building a new digital era of manufacturing, and we have the know-how and innovative mindset to develop ideas into pioneering tech solutions. As a business area within the Sandvik Group, SMF incorporates numerous business units within manufacturing with a focus on CAD/CAM and inspection software. Mastercam is our largest business and this role will initially have a special focus on supporting Mastercam.
The role
Reporting to the Business Area General Counsel, the Legal Counsel oversees the legal aspects of our business. As Legal Counsel your duties include safeguarding the organization’s reputation by guaranteeing that the company strictly follows laws, guidelines, and giving legal advice to management regarding all relevant issues. As a successful candidate you will effectively ensure legal conformity and minimize probability of exposure.
Key performance areas
Offering legal support and advice to senior management on important legal matters which arise across the business.Driving initiatives to ensure our businesses are well equipped to continue growing within the software industry, both now and looking ahead towards transitioning into SaaS based business models.Supporting mergers and acquisitions (M&A).Ensuring that the company complies with all current business process laws with a special interest in legislative changes to US AI and Data laws.Managing legal disputes and litigation and assisting in the resolution of disputes through negotiation, mediation, or arbitration.Drafting and supporting negotiations on commercial contracts.Working with external legal counsel on specialized matters and managing relationships to ensure cost-effective and high-quality legal services. Assisting in the management of legal budget and controlling legal expenses.Staying updated on the most recent developments in all pertinent legal areas and enhancing the legal department's knowledge base.Your profile
Must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; Five years of experience as a practicing attorney, with experience in corporate, commercial, or business law.

Flexible within the mid/east coast of United States. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
