Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Conducts research and perform legal reviews of the Authority’s applicants and vendors to ensure compliance with Authority’s Disqualification/Debarment Regulations, set forth in N.J.A.C. 19:30-2.1, et seq., as well as Executive Order 34 (Byrne 1976) and Executive Order 189 (Kean 1988). Conducts research and analyzes disclosures by applicants/vendors and findings regarding litigation, administrative and regulatory matters, and court records to determine whether grounds for disqualification, debarment or suspension exist.  Supports OPRA Custodian with responses to public records requests.  Supports Daniel’s Law Custodian with redactions to public records. Assists in the Authority’s process of State agency good standing checks. Works on projects analyzing EDA regulations and related programs; Creates reference tools for the Authority. Performs legal research and analysis on state statutes, regulations, Executive Orders, policies and programs, as needed. Promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative, and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff, and external customers.  Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities

 

 

Knowledge of or ability to read, understand and communicate in layperson’s terms about complex legislation, litigation and regulatory matters.  Must possess advanced research ability and information technology skills Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; proficient in grammar, spelling and editing; and foster communications with business professionals, public officials, legislators, general public, trade organizations and EDA staff Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various tasks simultaneously and work independently within limited time constrains with little or no supervision Ability to analyze data, prepare data visualization materials and other relevant documentation for leaders Must be able to maintain confidentiality and deal effectively and diplomatically with business professionals and EDA staff Demonstrates respectful behavior and promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff and external customers.   Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software packages Proficiency in using Lexis for legal research

Enrollment in an accredited Law School
