Job Title: Legal Secretary Location: Dallas, TX Onsite to start, then hybrid Salary: starting at $65k, but depends upon experience We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary with 5-7 years of litigation experience to join a dynamic and growing office. This role is a key part of the administrative and legal support team, handling a variety of legal and administrative tasks while demonstrating strong judgment, multitasking abilities, and the ability to meet deadlines. Please note: This is not a paralegal role. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives working independently and as part of a team. A high level of organization, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat are essential. This position requires initial in-office work from Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Once familiar with the role, a hybrid schedule may be available, offering three days in-office and two days remote. Additional perks include professional development opportunities and a collaborative, respectful work environment. **Primary Duties and Responsibilities** The responsibilities of the Legal Secretary include, but are not limited to: + Downloading and saving digital files in appropriate client matter folders using document management systems. + Coordinating e-filings in state and federal courts, including preparing exhibits, Table of Contents, and Table of Authorities. + Updating and maintaining physical files. + Preparing, formatting, proofreading, revising, and finalizing legal documents. + Assisting with preparing expense reports for attorneys. + Maintaining office equipment such as printers and copiers. + Handling daily office tasks, including mail sorting and distribution, ordering supplies, and light kitchen upkeep. + Submitting building maintenance requests as needed. + Collaborating with support staff across multiple office locations. + Performing other administrative duties as assigned. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** + Ability to work in-office initially, with the possibility of a hybrid schedule after onboarding. + Strong technical skills; familiarity with document management systems is preferred. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading capabilities. + Effective multitasking and prioritization skills in a deadline-driven environment. + Proactive approach to tasks and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. **Education and Experience** + An Associate's degree is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. + 5-7 years of litigation legal secretary experience. + Previous experience in a law firm environment is highly desirable.
