Legal Secretary
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Legal Secretary in Alexandria, Virginia. Your role will be to provide essential support in our legal department, with a focus on litigation. You will be handling administrative tasks, managing documents, and assisting in the preparation of legal proceedings. Responsibilities: • Managing the scheduling of meetings, setting calendar appointments, and updating contact information • Handling a variety of administrative tasks such as arranging travel, processing expenses, and reimbursements • Prioritizing, scanning, and distributing incoming emails and regular mail related to cases • Drafting, formatting, and revising various legal documents such as letters, memoranda, pleadings, and forms • Ensuring the accuracy of client and court documents through proofreading • Opening and maintaining files for new clients and matters • Managing attorneys’ docket and communicating deadlines to the team • Organizing and maintaining case files in both electronic and paper form, if required • Retrieving requested files, cases, depositions, exhibits, documents, and other information • Preparing and electronically filing pleadings with the court • Making necessary arrangements for depositions and assisting in preparation for out-of-town depositions and trial • Entering timesheets and assisting with client billing processes including reviewing and sending out client invoices • Processing incoming vendor invoices for payment • Providing assistance to other members of the litigation group when necessary For immediate and confidential consideration, please submit resumes directly to Vice President of Permanent Placement, Anne-Laure McGrory at anne-laure [dot] mcgrory [at] roberthalf [dot] [com]. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary • Proficiency in Billing Functions, with a focus on Legal Billing • Strong skills in Calendar Management, ensuring smooth workflow and scheduling • Experience in Litigation Practice, providing comprehensive support • Demonstrated expertise in Litigation Support, assisting in case preparation • Solid Litigation Experience, specifically in plaintiff representation • Competence in preparing and managing Litigation Documents • Understanding of Litigation Processes, contributing to case progression Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
