Description Growing bankruptcy law firm has an immediate opening for a Legal Secretary! This Legal Secretary will join a small team of legal staff and support up to five attorneys with Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for assisting with the full matter lifecycle for Chapter 11 cases, including drafting and formatting documents, e-filing with the courts, and liaising with clients. This position requires full-time on-site work in Santa Clara, CA. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of legal secretary or related experience, including experience working in the bankruptcy practice area. Responsibilities: • Preparing and processing bankruptcy petitions with a focus on Chapter 11 cases. • Managing Electronic Court Filings (ECF) predominantly for Federal courts. • Using case management software such as BestCase, Jubilee, and Clio for efficient case handling. • Drafting and overseeing legal documents. • Interacting with clients, often under challenging circumstances, and addressing their inquiries effectively. • Ensuring detailed calendar management to keep track of case timelines and deadlines. • Working with digital tools like Dropbox for file sharing and document management.
