About the Role
Capital One is looking for an energetic, collaborative and results-driven Legal Specialist, who can assist for a twelve (12) week period to update our legal requirements inventory.
Responsibilities:
Working with Canada Legal and Compliance teams to build and update regulatory database, and project-based documentation;
Support project-based work, including project related tasks such as ensuring all teams are meeting project deadlines and deliverables;
Analysis of legislation applicable to Canada Branch;
Participate in meetings with Canada Legal and Compliance teams to provide project status updates; and
General administrative tasks as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in law school or completed law school;
Strong knowledge of Excel; proficient with GSuite products;
Ability to work independently and take initiative;
Personal ownership pertaining to performance;
Superb organizational, analytical, and communication skills;
Ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous legal research experience
Familiarity with Canadian legal processes
