Legal Word Processor
Description We are seeking a Legal Word Processor to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This role primarily focuses on the production, editing, and formatting of legal documents, and will provide crucial support to our attorneys and paralegals. This role is located within our legal industry environment and offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Shift is 12-8pm, 1 day remote. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff to produce final versions of documents in a timely manner. • Utilize legal-specific software and tools for document management and processing. • Perform data entry, table creation, and formula generation in Microsoft Excel. • Convert documents from different formats (e.g., PDFs, scanned images) into editable text. • Ensure all documents adhere to legal formatting standards, court guidelines, and firm-specific requirements. • Create, format, edit, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, contracts, and correspondence, using Microsoft Word and other word processing software. • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information. • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines, maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail. • Provide support for trial preparations, including the creation of exhibits and binders. • Perform quality control checks to ensure all documents are free from errors and inconsistencies. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the legal industry • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Computer Word Processing, Docs Open, e-Copy, Elite Enterprise, and other relevant software • Demonstrated ability to perform billing functions accurately and efficiently • Experience in preparing briefing documents and charts or graphs • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal • Knowledge of consumer electronics • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and MS Office Suite • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when required • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
