Lending Professional

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Analyze credit data and financial statements of Brazilian clients in order to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money. Prepare reports with credit information for use in decision- making. Utilize knowledge of the Brazil credit lending process, cultural nuances of the Brazilian client base, and Brazil banking regulations affecting loan registration with the Central Bank to perform risk management and control, as well as credit origination. Coordinate with the various teams involved in the credit underwriting and credit risk support processes, including throughout document preparation, client service, booking, collateral review, and funding, to ensure each loan request is stewarded throughout the entire loan lifecycle process and delivered to the client within the desired timeframe. Follow up on any outdated or missing documentation and loan pricing exception approvals. Ensure all risk exceptions for the market related to past due principal, interest, fees, annual reviews and aging overdrafts are adequately addressed and resolved in a timely manner, and escalate to senior management any overdue items.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Banker/Lending Professional, Credit Operations Associate/Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or as Banker/Lending Professional, Credit Operations Associate/Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following skills: communicating with and servicing Brazilian clients; Brazil credit lending process; cultural nuances of the Brazilian client base; Brazilian Central Bank 4131 loan registration process; Brazilian ANBIMA system used to obtain public information regarding fund statements and fund articles; and working with Brazilian brokers. This position requires experience with the following regulations and regulatory practices: Brazilian 4131 regulation; International Standby Practice (ISP98), specifically the roles and responsibilities of the various parties involved in a standby letter of credit transactions; Federal Regulation U, specifically how and if it applies on the various types of loans extended by the bank and the impact on collateral valuations; and 11D, specifically what type of securities are subject to 11D seasoning and impact on collateral valuations.
 

Job Location: 390 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10017.  

Full-Time. Salary:  $113,950 - $125,000 per year.
