Description:
You will be a Lethality Engineer at Lockheed Martin, responsible for performing lethality-related engineering research, evaluation, and engineering to provide mechanical engineering support for multiple aspects associated with missile systems, warhead technologies, and armor defeat.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Lethality Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing and predicting the performance of weapon systems, assessing vulnerabilities of target and missile systems, and defining survivability criteria and failure modes and effects. You will use structural/hydrodynamic codes to simulate high-speed impacts and analyze lethality performance and effectiveness. Your responsibilities will include:
• Executing performance predictions of weapon systems via structural/hydrocode analysis
• Developing and processing hydrocode models/meshes for energetics analysis
• Assessing vulnerabilities of target and/or missile systems
• Defining survivability criteria and failure modes and effects
• Applying survivability/lethality/vulnerability data and modeling results to support testing and evaluation against real and simulated threats
• Providing technical reviews of analyses and test data
• Supporting system and missile level trade studies
• Developing interface control drawings, performance specifications, and statements of requirements for warhead or armor system subcontractors
• Verifying technical requirements, reviewing design packages, preparing test plans, supporting component testing, and attending technical interchange meetings and design reviews

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding with an understanding of explosives
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of energetic analysis tools
• Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• Effective task organization and communication skills with Integrated Product Teams
• Working knowledge of production operations procedures and processes. Familiarity with subcontract management/technical support
• Familiarity with root cause and corrective action methods
• Ability to view and edit drawings and interrogate CREO models

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
