Level 3 Software Engineer
**Job Description** The Software Engineer shall be responsible for creating, sustaining, and troubleshooting complex operational data flows including data storage, data transport, data management, data security, data compliance, and knowledge store management. Additional tasking shall include working with the mission customer to perform exploratory data analysis on raw data to clean, enrich, transform and convert the raw data into the required formats. The Software Engineer shall also be responsible for devising methods to improve existing operational data flow processing, distribution, and reliability. The Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, deploys, documents, maintains, and enhances complex and diversesoftware systems based upon documented requirements. These systems might include, but are not limited to, processingintensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulationof extremely large data sets, real-time systems, businessmanagement information systems, and systems which incorporate data repositories, data transport services, and application and systems development and monitoring. Worksindividually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests softwarecomponents for adherence to the design requirements anddocuments test results. Resolves software problem reports.Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Open Source Software (OSS) and/or Commercial OffThe-Shelf (COTS) Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components. Experience developing in Unix. Ability to perform shell scripting. Working knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) tools and Web Services implementation. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** Master s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college oruniversity, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similarscope, type, and complexity. OR Bachelor s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college oruniversity, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similarscope, type, and complexity OR Nine (9) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. **Position Required Skills** + Experience using the Linux CLI + Experience creating, managing, and troubleshooting complex operational data flows + Experience using Apache NiFi canvasto process and distribute data + Experience developing custom NiFi processors + Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus + Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as Ansible (Puppet and SaltStack acceptable) + Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence) **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + General HPC technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage components + Experience with Corporate data flow processes and tools + Experience with Corporate data security and compliance procedures and policies + Experience writing scripts using Bash/Python **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $128700 - $244500 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
