As a LexisNexis Law Student Associate, you will:
< >Become a master of our legal research toolsConnect with your fellow students through social media, online content and virtual/in-person training sessions and eventsGain experience in legal research, training, presentations and public speakingLearn how to promote awareness of our services, your role and your sessionsDevelop your networking skills by working with student associations, librarians and facultyBecome part of a community of law students across CanadaEarn a competitive salary for a few hours of your time each weekDevelop an in-depth knowledge of LexisNexis Canada legal research services and available content < >Provide legal research and academic support for students and faculty – regular library hours in a designated area (if on campus), on social media and email, in-person and virtual office hours (e.g. – Zoom, Teams) Cultivate relationships with librarians and faculty members and check in regularly to seek out training opportunities.Generate weekly social media engagement at your law school - posting on Facebook and Instagram pages, promoting/sharing events and contests, assisting LNC with development of content, inviting students to STAR Rewards etc.Communicate and initiate conversations with student groups (law students’ associations, Career Office, Legal Aid Clinics, moot competitions etc.) to promote LexisNexis and LexisNexis services and identify sponsorship or training opportunitiesAssist LexisNexis with on-campus and virtual training sessions, sponsored events and promotionsGrow the STAR Rewards Program by engaging with students and informing them of monthly offers and contests.Identify needs, gaps and competitive information about online legal researchProvide feedback and answers to LexisNexis regarding upcoming activities and strategies (identifying key dates and information related to your law school’s calendar of events, curriculum, courses etc.). Salary is $17.00/hour.Training:
All applicants must be available for a 1-2 hour virtual training session.
Confidentiality:
Confidentiality agreement must be signed by the student associate.
Qualifications:
Must be a current student at a law school in Canada.
