Summary:
Responsible for activities of diabetes education, nutrition counseling and all other related inpatient and outpatient education. Develops, plans and implements policies and procedures, training modules, and educational materials for patients and community in accordance with the American Diabetes Association National Review Standards for Diabetes Education Program.Responsibilities:
Public relations representative for community events, social media, television media. Serves as Co-Chair of Patient and Family Education Committee and other committees as appropriate.Performance Improvement data collections and analysis for bi-annual accreditation with the American Diabetes Association. Monitors compliance with other applicable requirements, including accreditation, legal and The Joint Commission.Patient and family education for the inpatient and outpatient settings in the following areas: Nutrition, Diabetes and Insulin Pump Management.Coordinates and instructs support groups for patients and families.Assists with department meetings, staff evaluations, conflict management within the department.Competencies:
