Objective To assist the Nancy Carol Roberts Library with daily duties Essential Duties Checks books and materials in and out of library for patrons. Assists patrons with general questions and with operation of copier, microfilm reader and computer including Internet. Collects money for book sales and late fines. Manages overdue library fines. Shelves books, magazines and newspapers. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be eligible for federal work-study.
Must be at least a half-time student (minimum six credit hours) at Blinn College. This includes all campuses and internet courses. Must be enrolled in at least six hours in summer terms as well. Preferred Experience and Training Knowledge of how the Dewey Decimal System and alphabetizing works; knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; ability to operate computers, provide excellent customer service, establish and maintain effective working relationships, and communicate effectively.

High school education, library experience preferred or any equivalent combinations of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must show proof of continuing student status. Must be enrolled and taking classes at Blinn College. Length of employment: semester by semester. Evaluation Procedures & Schedules – None.
