Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through STRL Mission Support direct hire authority. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. Responsibilities You will refer distribution and handling of technical manuals, reports and directives to librarians. You will perform building opening and closing procedures. You will perform basic office functions such as operating printers, copy machines, scanners, barcode scanners and other basic office equipment. Scans documents and saves electronic files. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the DG-02 (GS-4/5) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Supports the operations of the library's information services. 2. Provides ready reference assistance to clients. Greets all library clients in-person and provides necessary directional assistance. 3. Answers phone calls and general emails to the library. 4. Assists library users with library equipment, explains library rules and regulations, circulation procedures, and entitlements to library users. 5. Creates new library accounts and OpenAthens accounts. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Successful completion of at least two full academic years of education above high school OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
