Licensed Assessment Specialist / Psychometrist

Action Behavior Centers is seeking qualified candidates to assist with our assessment service for children suspected of having autism. The role involves administration and scoring of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition (ADOS-2), and summarizing results. Results are reviewed by physicians and clinicians to help guide diagnostic determination and recommendations. 

 

This is an ideal role for a candidate with an interest in assessment and diagnosis of autism and other developmental disorders. The opportunity provides in-depth exposure to understanding autism through working with a diverse population of children with developmental concerns, as well as becoming an expert on the ADOS-2, considered one of the gold-standard tools. The position is a good fit for someone who enjoys a predictable schedule and routine of a certain number of assessments per day. Previous training or experience with the ADOS-2 is a bonus, but not required. Training will be provided with ongoing support from the regional licensed psychologist and broader assessment team.

Qualifications: 

Applicants must have completed their Master’s degree in psychology, school psychology, education, counseling, or related field.  Licensure as an LPA, LSSP, LMFT, Provisionally Licensed Psychologist, strongly preferred  Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail Strong behavioral observation skills Good time management Natural ability to connect with children and parents. Need to be able to get on the floor and play Coursework in standardized assessment with related experience preferred Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental differences preferred

 

Duties: 

Complete initial training on the ADOS-2 Administer and score the ADOS-2 with a high level of reliability Complete written summaries of ADOS-2 results to be reviewed by referring clinicians and physicians  Seek consultation for cases where validity might be impacted Conduct assessments and complete written summaries in a timely fashion Assist the regional psychologist in oversight related tasks to help maintain integrity of the service across the region Testing will be done in 1-3 clinics within the region, with a set schedule of 1 location per day
