The UW Autism Center (UWAC) is devoted to supporting families affected by autism spectrum disorders through exceptional clinical services, innovative scientific research and high-quality training. UWAC is part of the Center on Human Development and Disability at the University of Washington and incorporates faculty and staff from the UW School of Medicine, College of Arts & Sciences, and College of Education.
**The Autism Center has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time (50%) Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst (LABA)/Continuing Education Specialist 1, based out of our Tacoma Clinic.**
This individual will work amongst a team of professionals, including licensed psychologists, speech-language pathologists, early intervention providers, medical professionals, faculty, graduate students, and pre- and post-doctoral fellows.
Under the supervision of a BCBA, this position will provide direct intervention to autistic children based on the principles of ABA and assist with intake assessments, designing and writing treatment programs, drafting report to be reviewed by a BCBA, and provide coaching and training staff on implementation of ABA strategies.
The position will support UW Autism Center-wide policies and procedures and workload standards. The position has additional complexities involving the ability to handle complex and sensitive situations regarding clinic patients.
The UW Autism Center Clinical Program is the largest service provider for autism spectrum disorders in the region, and is considered a national and international leader. The clinical Licensed Assistant Behavior Anaylst will play a key role in the UWAC
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Core Responsibilities of this position include:
+ To provide direct intervention to children (ages 12 months to 6 years) with ASD in a clinic setting.
+ To accurately record client intervention data and manage records.
+ To develop individualized materials used in therapy
+ To attend meetings, as necessary
+ Assist with intake assessments
+ Assist with development of treatment programs and goals
+ Draft reports and material for dissemination
+ Analyze data collected and make data driven changes to interventionPROVIDE INTERVENTION AND DEVELOP TREATMENT PLANS IN SCHOOL SETTING - 30%
+ Under the supervision of a BCBA, work 1:1 with student in school setting
+ Under the supervision of a BCBA, complete intake assessments to determine treatment plan
+ Under the supervision of a BCBA, design and develop treatment goals and write instructions programs
+ Implement intervention protocols developed by BCBA to increase skills/reduce problem behaviors
+ Provide responsible, positive, sensitive intervention and care during therapy.
+ Apply ABA principles in therapy; tailor procedures to fit individual interests/needs.
+ Work under close supervision of master's level BCBAPROVIDE DIRECT INTERVENTION - 30%
+ Work 1:1 with children in clinical setting
+ Implement intervention protocols developed by BCBA to increase skills/reduce problem behaviors
+ Provide responsible, positive, sensitive intervention and care during therapy.
+ Apply ABA principles in therapy; tailor procedures to fit individual interests/needs.
+ Work under close supervision of master's level BCBADEVELOP MATERIALS - 20%
+ Create and produce picture cards, books, and other visual supports as needed for the therapy program.
+ Create and produce motivation charts, token boards, PECS icons, visual schedules, play materials, etc.ORGANIZING/MAINTAINING THERAPY SPACE - 10%
+ Maintain clinic therapy spaces in an organized, clean, and child-proof manner.MANAGING RECORDS AND DATA COLLECTION -10%
+ Organize and maintain computer and paper records of therapy including collecting and accurately recording data in each therapy session, graphing data, and completing treatment notes. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelors Degree in related field of study
+ 3 years experience a in clinical setting focusing on children with ASD. Bachelor's degree must be from a recognized bachelor's degree program under WAC-246-805-210. _Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration._ **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
+ An official transcript must be provided as evidence of the degree required
+ Licensure and certification in field as a Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst
+ Successful completion of a minimum of one hundred thirty-five classroom hours of instruction in behavior analysis topics described in WAC 246-805-220. An official transcript must be provided as evidence of the course work required; and
+ Successful completion of a supervised experience requirement under WAC 246-805-230. **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ An approach to working with colleagues that enhances collaboration and team building;
