Our unique workplace Culture of Excellence is built upon: Employee engagement, empowerment and growth Teamwork toward our common goal – providing exceptional health care services with a passion for making lives better An atmosphere of caring and quality that cascades throughout the organization Evaluates physical conditions and advises and treats athletes to maintain maximum physical fitness for participation in athletic competition by performing the following duties: Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs assessment of injury or condition and takes appropriate follow up steps to ensure safe and proper care Prescribes routine, preventive and corrective exercises to strengthen muscles, increase balance and improve flexibility Provide practice, game/event coverage for assigned area Respond to medical emergencies and provide assessment, stabilization and first aid Make recommendations for athletic participation and return to sport guidelines Complete accurate documentation of assessment and referrals Refer athletes to physician for continued care per protocol Perform manual techniques and utilize taping and bracing to relieve symptoms and improve function Collaborate with sports medicine providers, physicians and other allied health professionals May work in a clinic setting with physician or under the direction of a physical therapist Culture of Excellence Behavior Expectations To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following behavior expectations: Quality - Follows policies and procedures; adapts to and manages changes in the environment; Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness giving attention to details; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Manages time and prioritizes effectively to achieve organizational goals. Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited school of Athletic Training Certification and Licensure Licensed as an athletic trainer in WI, IL or both if required Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days BOC certification For those driving Mercyhealth vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy. For those driving their personal vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested.
