We are looking for a part time/full time Licensed Clinician to work in an outpatient clinic in Redwood City, Ca.
The clinic focuses on psychiatric stabilization and competency restoration for patients newly deemed incompetent to stand trial. This treatment model emphasizes stabilization and customizes care to meet individual needs, based on evaluations by a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
How You Make a Difference
As a Licensed Certified Social Worker, you will oversee various social work activities. These include screening, diagnostic evaluations, and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as brief therapy and crisis intervention for patients. Your role ensures compliance with licensure standards and state and federal regulations, while delivering high-quality care to those in need.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate work assignments, provide technical assistance, and develop program plans in line with laws, regulations, and certification standards. Conduct intake evaluations, assess treatment needs, and offer mental health services to patients in the jail setting, including medication management and crisis intervention. Participate in treatment team meetings, CQI/QA studies, and staff training on mental health topics. Document findings in patient records, adhere to safety policies and procedures, and engage in peer review activities. Assist in the interview process, orientation, and training of new employees, and provide performance evaluations and training for direct reports. RequiredMaster’s degree in Social Work from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education required
Active license as an LCSW in state of practice required
Minimum of one year of social work experience preferred
Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency program when applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
