For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in an NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.Mandatory overtime (MOT) is a requirement of this position. Chosen candidate(s) will be added to the mandatory overtime roster, which is utilized on a rotating basis. The MOT is applied during times of emergency, after the agency has made a good faith effort to have overtime covered and all other staffing options have been exhausted (volunteers, hourly staff, contracted staff). Our Addiction Treatment Centers (ATCs) operate 24/7/365 programing. Therefore, MOT IS an essential function of this position and is critical to maintaining adequate staffing at all times in order to ensure the health and safety of clients within the facility.OASAS ATC's are Tobacco-Free facilities. Duties Description The Licensed Master Social Worker 1 will serve as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team and social work team. The incumbent will function as a clinician responsible for treating patients with complex presentations and/or co-occurring disorders. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Patient assessments;• Treatment planning to include contributions to initial and final transition plans and comprehensive treatment plans;• Treatment to include group and individual counseling, experiential/activity/recovery seminars and workshops, and various other clinical sessions;• Service provision of Evidence Based Groups.• Patient record-keeping and case management;• Quality and performance improvement activities;• Assisting in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment;• Participate as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team;• Leadership and organization of intern program.• Seek out and participate in additional training including delivery of evidence based treatments;• Other related duties as assigned. Additional Comments * The salary range listed in this posting reflects the full range for this graded position, factoring in annual performance advances based on satisfactory annual performance reviews.
