*Psychiatric Rehab Specialist Opening* Position Details: Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 40 / week Schedule: Days / M-F / 8a-4p OR 9a-5p Start Date: ASAP

Facility Overview

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program: For those living independently in the community, we offer services at our day program site located in Annapolis. Services are designed to assist individuals in improving and strengthening independent living and social skills. While building the individual’s ability to make life decisions, we facilitate the development of choices, with the ultimate goal of improving their quality of life. Services are provided according to their Individual Rehabilitation Plan developed by the program staff in collaboration with the individual. Residential Rehabilitation Program: We provide daily living rehabilitation and support services to adults living in supervised housing in the community. In this program PTS provides a homelike setting where individuals receive support in their activities of daily living, including medication management. Services are provided according to the Individual Rehabilitation Plan, developed by the program staff in collaboration with the individual.

POSITION SUMMARY

Facility based, the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist is in constant face-to-face contact with persons served primarily in a day program settings. The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist works as a member of a team. The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist specializes in psychiatric rehabilitation and serves as the primary contact for all persons’ vocational and rehabilitation assessments and plans. The primary duties of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation professional are to provide mental health, substance abuse, vocational, rehabilitative, case coordination, family counseling, and follow-along services to adult persistent and severely mentally ill persons who are currently referred to the program by the Core Service Agency. The goals of the program are to assist the persons served to improve their emotional, mental and functional status; to reduce the necessity for hospitalization and incarceration; to assist the persons served improve their ability to live safely, follow treatment protocols, and be a productive member of a community environment; to facilitate rehabilitation from severe psychiatric or addictive conditions as much as possible; and to assist with increasing their capacity for independent living. The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist consistently, customarily and regularly exercises independent judgment and discretionary power in the performance of the duties of the position. The Psychiatric  rehabilitation Specialist works with minimal supervision.
