Summary:
The licensed occupational therapist enables people of all ages to live life to its fullest by helping them promote heal and prevent--or live better with--illness, injury, or disability, while engaging in science-driven, evidence-based practice. The licensed occupational therapists at Riverside are responsible for maintaining the growth of the occupational therapy profession and supporting autonomous practice. Licensed occupational therapists may supervise and be assisted by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants who are educated and licensed to provide occupational therapist directed and supervised components of interventions. Licensed Occupational therapists provide professional evaluation and treatment, develop Occupational Therapy treatment programs, educate patients, family members, and employees while under the referral and/or authorization of a physician as outlined by all rules and regulations governing Occupational Therapy practice in the State of Illinois.
Experience/Education Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
License or Certification Requirements:
Current active or temporary Illinois Licensure to practice Occupational Therapy or ATT letter (authorization to test) issued by Continental Testing or the State of Illinois in the instance of a recent graduate.
