UPMC is hiring a full time Licensed Practical Nurse, OP to join their Magee Women’s Specialty Horizon – Hermitage office! This position will work in an OB/GYN office affiliated with the Magee Women’s Health Group that see patients for their annual exams, problem visits as well as follow patients throughout their pregnancy. We also offer some in-office procedures. 

The LPN will provide professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers. This will include rooming patients, getting vitals, assisting with procedures, and giving injections and vaccines. The hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with no evenings, weekends, or holidays! 

Purpose:
Provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.

Responsibilities:

Draw blood. Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health). Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip. Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments. Assess patient’s general condition and take vital signs and weight. Comply with all policies and procedures. Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse. Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record. Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
