Overview JOB DUTIES Under the supervision of Medical Director, Provider or Nurse Manager, the LPN utilizes the nursing process to assist in the provision of ambulatory health care services that reflect the ambulatory health care providers philosophy and standard of ambulatory health and nursing care of assigned patients. Essential Functions • Implements and provides appropriate clinical support in conjunction with the planned activities of the ambulatory setting in order to provide adequate support for the medical providers. • Administers and documents medications and intravenous solutions according to established policies. Clinical care is implemented per ambulatory health care standards, policies, and procedures. • Provides excellent customer service for patients/families/representatives and other members of the treatment team. • Ensures quality and safe delivery of ambulatory health care services. • Assesses and monitors patients to identify problem, then documents and communicates this information to provider. • Participates in performance improvement projects. • Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care. • Fulfills additional performance and responsibilities as assigned and as necessary. Temperament Must be able to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, or unusual situations. Must be capable of dealing with periodic cyclical workload pressures and levels of responsibility. Required to make independent judgments without supervision. Must be able to make generalizations, evaluations, or decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria. Must have the adaptability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. Requires the ability to work with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Qualifications Skills, Knowledge, Abilities • Problem-solving abilities, exceptional customer relationship. • Knowledge of ambulatory health care or related health care field. • Knowledge of JACHO Standards and Ambulatory Care Nursing Standards. • Ability to provide dynamic customer service using various techniques including positive language, calming presence, attentiveness, clear communication, and patience. Experience Requirements 1 year LPN in ambulatory setting preferred Education Requirements College Diploma Nursing required Certification/Licensure Requirements Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required at time of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire UFJPI is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace
