Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Night Shift

Job Summary

Provides onsite health promotion, restoration of health, injury and illness prevention, and injury and illness treatment. Provides medical care, first aid, and other health services within the scope of practice for licensure and in accordance with protocols.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Promotes safety and health to all team members by educating team members on protocols, injury prevention, ergonomics, and wellness programs. Collaborates cross-functionally to promote health programs and occupational health compliance.               

·         Provides appropriate health evaluations and treatment for work and non-work-related injuries and illnesses.               

·         Performs drug and alcohol testing per policy.      

·         Assists with case management strategies for work related injuries and illnesses.  

·         Participates in Incident investigations as necessary.          

·         Serves as liaison with medical claims adjusters, medical providers, and/or counsel for workers’ compensation.               

·         Maintains accurate documentation and assists in departmental medical records upkeep ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations (i.e., HIPAA).   

·         Participates in Safety, Health Services, and Human Resources projects and initiatives, such as flu shot clinics, health screenings, stress management workshops, etc.  

·         Stays up to date with workplace safety regulations and healthcare best practices to ensure compliance with local and federal laws.   

 

Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience)

·         Current unrestricted RN or LPN license to practice nursing in hiring state (or compact licensure state)        

·         Current certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED    

·         High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

·         1+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·         Working knowledge of nursing practices and legal limitations and the ability to ensure compliance, provide appropriate care, and make appropriate recommendations          

·         Ability to use sound judgment and discretion while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality             

·         Detail orientated and ability to accurately execute tasks in a timely manner           

·         Effective organization, time-management, and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time in a fast-paced and changing environment              

·         Solid communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at any level              

·         Proficient technology and MS applications skills (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)        

·         Ability to be flexible and resourceful in response to changing priorities and needs               

·         Skilled at solving problems using established standards and protocols      

·         Ability to work on-call weekend/holiday rotation

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·         1+ year of experience in health care        

·         Bilingual (English / Spanish)        

 

Physical Demands

·         While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.           

 

Working Conditions

·         Work will be performed in a variety of conditions including remote work, a climate-controlled office environment(s), and in a manufacturing plant environment with varying conditions, such as cold areas, wet areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment. For remote work, the employee must have a dedicated workspace to safely setup and use assigned IT equipment, preferably free from distractions. The employee is responsible for ensuring adequate internet service is available when working remotely (the recommended minimum speed is 20mb download and 5mb upload).          

·         The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection.              

·         Occasional travel may be required.
