Location: Surgical Oncology Clinic

Sign on Bonus: Up to $7,500

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (For Non-exempt Employees Include Percent of Effort):

Provides direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the supervision of a RNCollects patient assessment data and notifies appropriate RN of actual and/or potential problem and needs on an ongoing basis; records information concisely, accurately, and completelyTakes patient vital signs: temperature, pulse, blood pressure and respirations and records on patient record; reports any unusual findings to RN Weights and measures patients and records on patient recordAdminister medications and performs treatments and procedures as assigned by the RNAssists with the patient intake process and dischargePerform skilled nursing procedures within the scope of safe nursing practice following nursing and hospital policies and procedures.Assist physician/ARNP/RN during test or proceduresDocuments appropriate information and in a timely manner according to nursing and hospital policies and procedures.Shares responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing carePerforms more-complex nursing activities as competence increasesCommunicates frequently with the Charge RN regarding patients’ physical and mental conditionsIdentifies and utilizes appropriate channels of communicationConstructively participates in appropriate committees within the nursing department and/or the hospitalPerform daily checks in each unit covered by the team to ensure all the equipments to be used for the safety of patients and personnel.Monitor availability of supplies and order replacement of necessary items to assure efficient operation.Respond and assist team members and other personnel in any patient emergenciesAssist in the orientation of other LPN and or nursing assistantsCreates a comfortable environment for staff, physicians, and other health care personnel.Knowledgeable in and effective in caring out the policies of the clinic and facilitySupports and participates in performance improvement activities.Collects and conduct test ordered by physicians/ARNP from patient Blood, sputum or urine.Draw and collect blood specimens for the purpose of laboratory testingSet up and administers EKG

Consistently maintain complete confidentiality on all aspects HIPPA regulations.Attends meetings as needed and mandatory in-servicesActs as role model and maintain professional demeanor at all times.Maintains documentation of the continuing education requirements.Maintains professional certifications/licensure in active status.Seeks/accepts training to learn new skills and maintain current competencies.Practices within the guidelines as set forth by the Florida Board of Nursing.Meets customers’ expectation by listening to them, demonstrating sensitivity and awareness of others. Follows through to ensure that established expectations are satisfied; keep customers informed of progress.Works effectively and cooperatively in groups/teams to ensure quality patient care. Communicates effective with directors and/or manager and other members of the interdisciplinary team.Regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.Demonstrate dependability/reliability by promptly reporting to work when scheduled.Other duties as assigned by the Clinic Nurse Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications (Essential Requirements):

Requires current/valid Florida nursing license.  Graduate from an accredited LPN school. 2 year Associate Degree BLS, HIV, Domestic Violence, and Medication Errors Minimum of one year LPN experience preferably in a hospital setting.  Strong interpersonal communication skills.  Excellent English verbal/written skills are necessary.  Moderate to advance computer literacy and skills Tact, diplomacy and ability to work with individuals in all levels of hospital and medical staff organization Multi-tasking and communication skills are necessary
