Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant - Acute Clinic & Urgent Care **Grand River Medical Group** 1 Positions ID: 1299587 Posted On 09/10/2024 **Job Overview** **Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse** Position is for the Urgent Care & Acute Clinic locations Grand River Medical Group is seeking an experienced **Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse** to deliver high-quality care to our patients in a fast-paced patient care setting. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to rooming patients, phlebotomy, injections, and other tasks required to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate would possess robust nursing skills and the ability to work efficiently with little supervision. You must be able to work in a **fast-paced environment** and have strong organizational skills. You will also need to be a team player and work closely with the receptionist, clinicians, and all other members of the care team. **This is a full-time position, 36-40 hours per week. This position has the ability to provide flexible part-time schedule options (could include weekend package, shorter shifts, we are flexible!) or full-time with a rotating schedule, with evening and weekend requirements.** Urgent Care and Acute are open Monday-Friday, 7:30am-7:00pm, and Saturday-Sunday, 8:30am-4:00pm. Join us as we open our **NEW** Urgent Care near the Locust St. HyVee! **Duties include but are not limited to:** + Prepare patients for clinician office visit: greet and escort patient to exam room, obtain vitals, update medications and allergies in the electronic medical record. Explain procedures appropriate to visit. + Draw blood for laboratory specimens according to protocol as needed. + Assist the clinician with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments. Demonstrate ability to perform and assist with clinical procedures. Provide direct patient care as ordered. + Accurately administer medications. + Responsible to float through the organization based on the need of the organization and skill set the CMA has been signed off on to perform. + Document accurately in all areas of the electronic medical record. + Promote wellness by providing patient educational materials, communicating clinicians' advice and instructions to the patient and/or family and assess the patient and/or family understanding of the instructions and information. + Communicate to patient test results and return phone calls in a timely manner. + Coordinate patient care by triaging patient phone calls regarding urgency of appointments, communicating with clinicians and scheduling hospital admissions and testing under clinician orders. **Education/Experience/Skills:** + Must be a graduate from an accredited medical assistant program or school of nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses. + One year of Medical Assistant or professional nursing experience preferred. + Must be a certified Medical Assistant or LPN with an active certification/license to practice in the state of Iowa. + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. **We offer:** A competitive hourly wage plus a very attractive benefits package including vacation, generous company provided benefits, and much more.
