Job Description

ProSidian Seeks a Personnel Assistance Licensed Practical Nurse (PAS4) [Key Personnel | Program Manager - Non-Exempt 874-1 Consultant] located across the US to provide Energy/Power Sector related Management And Operations Solutions for Personal Assistant Services (PAS) on behalf of US Department of Energy (DOE).  These services are considered part of The ProSidian Energy, Infrastructure, And Environment  Sector Group with overall focus being  Energy, Infrastructure, And Environment (EIE) Sector Group: Tailored Solutions To Meet Global Needs And Manage Resources across Energy, Infrastructure, And Environment In A Changing Environment.  for clients such as The Department of Energy (DOE).

 

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide Personal Assistant Services (PAS) as part of our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. The LPN will play a crucial role in supporting employees with targeted disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enabling them to focus on their professional responsibilities. The LPN will be responsible for assisting individuals with activities of daily living and providing specialized care to enhance their overall workplace experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Provide direct support to employees with targeted disabilities, assisting with activities of daily living such as eating, drinking, dressing, toileting, transferring, and mobility.Assist employees in and out of vehicles, mobility devices, and restrooms, including lifting and carrying when necessary.Aid in adjusting, operating, and organizing the employee's workstation and government equipment/technology.Accompany employees with service animals and provide sighted guidance to blind and low vision individuals.Assist with light filing, retrieve out-of-reach items, and provide wheelchair assistance.Maintain familiarity with assistive technology software applications and assist employees in using them effectively.Uphold professionalism and cultural sensitivity when interacting with employees with disabilities.Collaborate with the core group of Personal Assistants to provide consistent and high-quality services.Maintain confidentiality of all interactions and materials handled, adhering to security and privacy protocols.Prepare monthly and quarterly reports detailing services provided, hours worked, and other relevant metrics.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with at least two years of related professional work experience.Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.Familiarity with assistive technology software applications such as ZoomText, JAWS, Kurzweil, and Dragon Naturally Speaking.Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity when working with individuals with disabilities.Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, climbing, and reaching.Proficient in providing services to individuals with disabilities and making professional judgments to support their needs.Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to workplace etiquette and standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification.At least two years of experience working with people with disabilities in a professional environment (academic, government, medical, etc.).Demonstrated ability to work effectively with assistive technology and accessibility software.Strong communication skills, including the ability to read technical and non-technical documents aloud accurately.Experience with lifting and transferring individuals safely.Completion of DOE required trainings for Contractors.Additional Requirements:Must be able to provide services between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility for occasional longer hours.Ability to respond to emergency and short notices of required assistance.Availability for nationwide service provision.Ability to work with diverse individuals and uphold confidentiality and privacy standards.Completion of requisite Security and Privacy Awareness Training to obtain access to DOE facilities.

 

Skills Required

The role will operate under the DOE's security clearance requirements.Successful completion of requisite Security and Privacy Awareness Training is mandatory.This is a one-year contract with the possibility of four additional one-year options.PAS services will be provided between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and may extend from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays.Reporting of services, cancellations, and other performance metrics is required on a monthly and quarterly basis.
