Summary:
Vighter is seeking to hire multiple Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) to provide social services, counseling, mental health and/or behavioral health support to patients within the Customs and Border Protection – Immigration and Customs Enforcement mission, with dozens of locations across the United States’ Southern borders, to include California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Florida. The role will involve offering direct counseling services, crisis intervention, and wellness support to CBP personnel who face unique challenges in their duties protecting the nation's borders. The LPC will work closely with CBP leadership to develop and implement programs that promote mental health and emotional well-being.
Principle Accountabilities:
Counseling Services: Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to address stress, trauma, anxiety, and other mental health concerns faced by CBP personnel. Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly to critical incidents, offering immediate support and intervention to employees impacted by traumatic events. Employee Assistance Programs (EAP): Participate in and enhance existing EAP initiatives, tailoring services to the specific needs of CBP personnel. Training and Workshops: Develop and deliver educational programs on topics such as stress management, resilience, conflict resolution, and coping strategies. Assessment and Referrals: Conduct mental health assessments and, if necessary, refer individuals to specialized care or community resources. Policy Collaboration: Work with CBP leadership to ensure mental health policies and procedures align with the needs of employees and comply with applicable regulations. Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and interventions, adhering to ethical and legal standards. Functional proficiency and ability to document patient-centered health care in the required electronic health record or electronic medical record, in the required format, in a timely manner, and in compliance with contract policy and guidance. Provide training and support to remote employees on timekeeping systems and processes, including troubleshooting issues and providing guidance on using timekeeping tools effectively. Stay informed about changes in timekeeping technology, regulations, and best practices, and make recommendations for updates and improvements to timekeeping processes. Candidate must have successfully completed a Master of Social Work (MSW) from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited.Qualifications:
Current and unrestricted state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent credential. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience, preferably in high-stress or law enforcement environments. Experience with trauma-informed care and crisis response. Strong understanding of confidentiality and ethical considerations in mental health services. Bilingual proficiency (Spanish preferred) is highly desirable. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments.Duty Hours / On-call Requirements:
Generally speaking, locations supporting the CBP-ICE mission set are open and active 24/7/365, to include days, nights, weekends and all holidays. As required to satisfy the contractual obligations. Generally, this is a regional assignment that requires working from a “home base” (not “work from home”) and traveling to numerous CBP locations within the assigned region. Commute is non-compensatory. All official travel is government-funded.Benefits:

Must be able to sit for more than 8 hours per day. Must be willing to work overtime if necessary. Must be able, with advance notice, to float to sites within 20 miles. Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders. Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print. Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear. Must be able to perform duties in an indoor or outdoor environment. Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation. Must undergo Urine Drug Screening (UDS). Positions require applicants to be US Citizens, 21 years or older.
