Our client in Porterville, CA seeks dedicated Licensed Psychiatric Technician to provide care to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a 24 hour residential service setting. You would be working with individuals 18 years of age and older. 
This is a GREAT opportunity for any LPTs that want to get their foot in the door with a State facility. As an Amergis employee you would have preference to be hired on directly after your assignment!
Experience in Behavioral Health or Corrections is highly sought after but if you are in the beginning stages of your career with less than a year experience, you are still welcome to apply. 

POSITION DETAILS: Pay: Great starting pay at $40 an hour Location: You’d be working in Porterville, CA Assignment Length: 8 week assignments with possible extensions based on performance. Schedule Availability: 8 hours shifts – AM (645a-315p), PM (245p-1115p), NOC (11p-7a) Full Time availability is valued: 40 hours per week. 6 days on 2 days off rotation. GURANTEED HOURS. AM or NOC only Part Time availability may also be an option: Must work minimum 12 shifts per month. Must have weekend availability. Hours not guaranteed. PM and NOC only. JOB DUTIES: Work with individuals with mental health disabilities that are awaiting their due process through the court system. Work with a team of LPTs & RNs to observe and care for patients. Respond to multiple units in crisis with RN team. Care for up to 25 clients in a unit. Provides personal care and behavioral assistance/interventions to assigned clients. Assists with ambulation and transfer services. Monitor vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure. Provides behavioral support services. Provides crisis intervention. Encourages independence. Maintains patient safety. Implements behavioral plans. Documents care per policies and procedures. Participate in rehabilitation and treatment programs, help with personal hygiene, and administer oral  or injectable medications. Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

REQUIREMENTS: Current CA LPT License Current BLS  1 Year in Behavioral Health or Corrections preferred but not necessary Experience with Crisis Intervention preferred but not necessary Ability or willingness to work with Mild to Mod range of intellectual disability.  Candidate will be able to commit to working most major holiday To be considered for this position, submit your resume over and we will reach out to schedule a phone interview!
