Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. The Aging and Disability Services Division is currently recruiting for a full-time Licensed Psychologist 1 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS). Incumbents specialize in working with children who have developmental disabilities and related conditions such as Autism, seizures, and traumatic brain injury. Responsibilities include conducting Autism diagnostics and preparing comprehensive reports that integrate developmental history, observations, test results and offer consultations for children experiencing behavioral issues and social-emotional delays. The incumbent will work in settings that utilize Person-Centered Planning and principles of Positive Behavior Supports, overseeing the development of contextually appropriate behavioral support plans to address challenging behaviors. Additionally, they participate in team and clinical meetings to review the progress of the children they serve. This position involves participation in Specialty Clinics like the Autism Clinic. There is an expectation to engage in community outreach to local pediatrician offices, universities, and community behavioral agencies to foster collaboration and continuity of care. This position may involve sitting on a statewide commission or coalition to support stakeholder needs and state initiatives and may provide ongoing parent training and counseling in group settings for families and conduct at least one training session per year for staff. Special Requirements Licensed Psychologist I's and Licensed Psychologist II's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment. Some positions require work on evenings, weekends and holidays. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
