We are an AAHA-accredited multi-doctor practice in Williamsburg, VA, offering Primary Care, Illness Care, Surgery, Dentistry, Boarding, and more. We are open for medical visits Monday through Saturday, with boarding pickup hours on Sunday afternoons.

About the Role

Our DVMs trust our LVT’s and we seek to utilize our LVT team to their fullest potential. We are seeking dependable, adaptable, fun, and detail-oriented team members.  Our LVTs provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients. Duties to include:

Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures. Venipuncture and IVC placementAdminister SQ fluids, medications, etc.Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.Recognize subtle change in clinical status.Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.Complete estimates, basic record keeping.Surgical preparation and assisting.Anesthesia monitoring.Dentistry and dental radiographs.Maintaining medical records.Preparing surgical suite and surgical patients.Filling prescriptions.Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for boarded and hospitalized pets.

VCA Animal Hospitals offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, pet care discounts, paid vacation, holidays and sick days, health and well-being programs that provide resources and training. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The pay range for this position is $22 to $26 / hour.
