Infusion for Health is a referral-based infusion center that services all providers in multiple locations in California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Colorado, and Missouri. Our center is unique and offers individual comfortable private rooms for our patients. Our mission is to provide exceptional service in the administration of infusion therapy in a comfortable, patient-focused environment by providing exemplary professional clinical care.

Our company is continuing to grow and we're looking for an Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to support our brand new center in Oakland, CA. This is a part-time, 3 days 24 hours/week position.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing requiredCurrent, unrestricted LVN license in California requiredIntravenous (IV) Certification requiredBasic Life Support (BLS) requiredMinimum of one-year post-graduate LVN experience requiredRecent infusion experience preferred

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Keen assessment and monitoring skills; ability to identify medication reactions quickly.Skilled at performing intravenous catheter placement and monitoring for signs and symptoms IV site related complications.Skilled in drawing labs using aseptic technique.Skilled at performing subcutaneous injections and monitor for site reactions.Able to demonstrate infection control precautions and sterile technique.Able to provide age-appropriate education to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and elderly patients.Demonstrate strong communication skills in speaking and writing.Effective interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a groupStrong computer skills, including word processing, efficient use of the internet and email, and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Greet patients respectfully and ensure patients are cared for in a timely and safe manner.Provide general nursing care to patients; administer prescribed medications per drug protocol and within the scope of practicePerform an age vital signs and nursing assessment on each assigned patient.Provide age specific education; initiate and reinforce as needed for infusions/injections they are receiving.Review list of biologic questions for all patients.Provide patient education about individualized treatment and answer questions appropriately according to evidence-based practice and the Medication Policy and Procedures. Provide written education materials about the drug they are receiving.Follow the Five Rights prior to medication administration.Observe, record, and report patient's condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to the Medical Director and record in electronic medical record (EMR). Complete all other required documentation and reporting as necessary.Provide accurate, real-time documentation in the patient's EMRProvide close monitoring of patients in infusion rooms and prioritize complexity of care.Maintain timely flow of patient care and documentation.Respond to emergencies and confidently demonstrate and document interventions ordered by the Nurse Practitioner and/or Provider.Follow all OSHA guidelines to minimize exposure to blood borne pathogens.Follow HIPPA regulations and practices with a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining patient confidentiality.Assist and support colleagues with all aspects of patient careparticipate and complete other duties as assigned

The hourly pay range for this role is expected to be between $30 - $38. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
