The Licensed Vocational Nurse as an integral part of the Interdisciplinary Team, utilizes the nursing process to provide therapeutic care to employees and volunteers at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital. Delivers services that meet or exceed professional, organizational, community and regulatory standards and provides customer satisfaction.Provides clinical and administrative services for new hires and volunteers. Administers immunizations, PPD skin tests, N95 mask fit testing, annual health assessments, return to work clearances, and completes new employee health assessment and clearance. Actively involved in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program. Maintains well-organized and up-to-date record keeping systems while ensuring confidentiality of employee health records. Employee participates in a collaborative work environment as demonstrated through teamwork and effective communication.
Minimum Education: • Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Minimum Experience/Knowledge: • Minimum one (1) year current experience as a LVN preferred Required License/Certification: • Current California LVN license • Intravenous Therapy (IV) and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification* • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card from the American Heart Association. • AB 508 Certification (if no certification upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire)* • Emergency Department LVNs are required to pass the hospital’s electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation test. *Not required for Employee Health Services As part of Keck Medicine of USC, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital is the only community hospital in the Foothills area of Los Angeles backed by academic medical center.
