Salary Range: $25.15 - $34.69

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director, responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in accordance with the standards defined by the Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT), the American Nurses Association (ANA), and Lompoc Valley Medical Center.District Responsibility:

Constantly use C-I-CARE principles when communicating with others. Performance Improvement Activities Professional DevelopmentPosition Duties/Responsibility:
Basic nursing care under the supervision of a RN or physician. Monitoring of vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and providing basic wound care. Documents all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record. Administers prescribed medications. LVNS’s are permitted to administer medications including oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous injections. However, they are not allowed to administer intravenous (IV) medications unless they have completed an additional certification course in IV therapy and blood withdrawal. (Thirty hour basic IV program approved by the State of California). Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care. Maintains patient rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. May prepare equipment and aid physicians during treatment, examination and testing of patients. May be asked to act as a department resource and coordinate nursing care for patients. Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions. Maintains strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA. Must thoroughly understand and follow established policy and procedure with regard to basic patient care. Participates in department quality improvement, clinic safety, infection control and hazardous materials programs and activities. Exercises discretion and maintains a high level of confidentiality. Performs related work as required. Other duties as assigned by unit Nursing Manager or Director.Essential Functions:
