Use your expertise in license compliance to lead programs in China and deliver significant growth for Trimble’s Architecture & Design Division!

What You Will Do

As the License Compliance Consultant your role will be to build and execute strategies for license compliance. You will be responsible for implementing measures to protect Trimble’s Architecture and Design line of products’ intellectual property rights and software copyrights by cooperatively working with our customers and/or partners to ensure contractual license compliance. The goal of this role is to assist our customers and/or partners achieve and maintain compliance with software license usage.

You will work with customers, distribution partners and compliance agencies to resolve license compliance issues within designated territories. You will ensure proper capture of license and maintenance revenue to Trimble, while preserving the overall relationship between all the parties involved.

You will be responsible for negotiating and researching agencies and practices to employ localised activity as well as:

Agency Management:

Work with LC Agencies to plan and conduct license reviews to ensure software is used/distributed in compliance with the associated license agreements. This includes negotiation and cooperation with internal legal representatives if required.

Overall responsibilities driving License Compliance in a programmatic way:

Interpret license agreements and maintenance renewal records by conducting license reconciliations.

Obtain a thorough understanding of Trimble A&D environments to provide license analysis and guidance.

Work with Sales/LC Agencies/Partners and the Customer to resolve issues identified in the compliance report(s).

Provide licensing education to internal and external customers.

Drive enhancements to the license report collection and analysis process.

Explore new processes and procedures to increase the success of the compliance initiatives.

Drive performance of the LC agencies.

Responsibilities, related to the LC Strategy build up:

Help study the local environment as we evolved the LC model in and what approach would be effective, yet still maintaining the global LC policy guidelines for the A&D team.

Work closely within the team in China to help build up a LC strategy in line with the channels model. 

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

Demonstrable experience in License Compliance Sales.

Bachelor degree or equivalent in law, business management or related fields. 

Should have a clear understanding about violation & infringement & corrective measures software publisher is implementing. 

Good existing relationships with known License Compliance Agencies within the region

Good oral and written communication skills with an ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders, both within and outside the organization 

Discretion in the handling of the politically sensitive and confidential information. 

Knowledge and experience managing customers in a License Compliance process.

Strong analytical and research skills, and attention to detail.

Experience with and a strong understanding of software license agreements.

Ability to analyze and interpret key relationships and concepts.

Successful management of multiple projects.

Understanding of the software industry is a must.
