**_Hiring Salary Range: $111,700 - $167,600_**
_Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level._
The Licensing Engineer ensures ISFSI operations are conducted in accordance with applicable Federal and State regulations, requirements, and licensing bases. Additional duties include corrective action coordinator, fire protection program administrator, co-point of contact with NAC International
**The Impact You Will Make in This Role:**
1. Prepare technical response on behalf of Dairyland to Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) correspondence, including bulletins, information notices, generic letters, and requests for additional information from the NRC.
2. Engage in and maintain an awareness of nuclear industry regulatory trends and changes that relate to spent nuclear fuel and ISFSI operations.
3. Be responsible for clear, concise, accurate, reports as required by the ISFSI Manager.
4. Participate in the development of a procedure for an Aging Management Program for Important to Safety material at the ISFSI.
5. Ensure new systems and equipment meet the NRC and other applicable regulatory requirements.
6. Initiate, plan, and coordinate Work Orders for the ISFSI.
7. Perform regulatory reviews of all changes to Plans and Programs to ensure they do not reduce regulatory effectiveness or commitment.
8. Document and submit License Amendment Requests along with justification, to the NRC, when there is a potential reduction or reduction in regulatory effectiveness/commitment.
9. Ensure Important to Safety components are properly procured, received and stored as required by ISFSI Administrative Control Procedures and NAC International requirements.
10. Perform 10 CFR 72.48 and 10 CFR 50.59 Evaluations of activities conducted at the ISFSI.
11. Ensure the 10 CFR 72.212 report is current as related to changes in the ISFSI site and surrounding area.
12. Incorporate design bases, regulatory requirements, codes, and standards into drawings and specifications related to ITS SSCs design and changes thereto.
13. Maintain a working knowledge of applicable NRC Regulatory Guidance documents, NEI Guidelines and Industry Standards.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or related field with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience. Licensing or other engineering support experience is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
**Skills**
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel) and Adobe Professional
• Working knowledge of Chapter 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
• Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills, with competencies in technical writing, and decision-making.
• Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites and meet NRC security and DPC security requirements.
• Ability to work in time constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality product.
• Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment.
**Licenses and Certifications:** Professional Engineering (PE) license, SRO, or other nuclear power related licenses or certificates preferred.
