We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Hydraulic Mining Shovels (HMS) Product Support Team as a Life Cycle Specialist where you can have a significant impact on our customers and dealers. In this position, you will ensure the overall health of the HMS aftermarket parts business by preventing unplanned downtime for our customers and having the right part in the right place at the right time.
You will also play a critical role in achieving targets that support Caterpillar’s services growth by executing strategies for all aspects of parts life cycle management. Daily work would include, but is not limited to, parts availability and inventory planning and analysis, reviewing machine down orders, leading or being a team member on projects, and responding to general/critical parts requests.
This position will work closely with those in the product group - HMS Engineering, Service Engineers, and Quality teams as well as have responsibility for both current and legacy products. You will also work across matrix organizations and collaborate with Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Go-to-Market Sales Teams, and Parts Pricing.
What You Will Do:
Lead parts availability efforts and critical components planning
Lead, track, and resolve machine down / mega orders
Contribute to the collection and validation of repair options, intervals, and service data
Contribute to resolving parts-related issues directly impacting customers and dealers by engaging Logistics and other support organizations
Contribute to parts’ margin optimization through cost and price analysis
Contribute to preventing parts proliferation, meeting turns targets, and inventory management
Contribute to Aftermarket Services growth projects
Contribute to life cycle solution improvements
Educate, coach, and increase the understanding of the parts business for product group and process partner team members.
What Skills You Will Have:
Service Excellence: Knowledge of mining products, services, and dealers to leverage the enterprise to meet our customer’s needs. Clear understanding of the importance of Caterpillar parts and service to our customers. Sense of urgency when addressing issues for our customers.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Effective Communications: Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) for a global and diverse audience. Appreciation for diversity in our dealers and customers and the ability to tailor the message for each situation.
Inventory Management: Ability to effectively track, order, and maintain stock levels of goods within a business, ensuring optimal supply to meet demand while minimizing costs by avoiding overstocking or stockouts.
Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing, and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business-related activities.
Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major aftermarket application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage these systems in various situations.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Experience in Inventory Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Field Assignments, Product Support or Procurement
Bachelor’s degree
Working knowledge in the parts and aftermarket business, policies, systems, and procedures
Knowledge of the Mining Industry and the HMS product line
Additional Information:
This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Tucson, AZ office.
This position may require 10 % travel.

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
