This position requires adaptability, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced research environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cell biology, with experience in—or a willingness to work with—mice, including supporting animal care and surgical procedures. If you are motivated by the opportunity to use animal and cellular models to explore the mechanisms underlying human neurodegenerative diseases, we encourage you to apply and join our team.
Responsibilities include maintenance of mouse colonies and human cell lines (including stem cells) as well as performance of and basic molecular biology techniques (such as molecular cloning, western blotting, and fluorescence microscopy). The LSRP will be expected to work closely with other members of the research team and the supervisor to develop protocols, interpret and analyze the results of experiments, and suggest modifications to procedures when appropriate. The position also includes lab management tasks such as ordering supplies, maintaining lab records, and adhering to safety regulations.
