Job Description

Provides guidance, support, and structure to the learning process of basic life support/cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and pediatric advanced life support for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta AHA training center. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Experience

1 year teaching an American Heart Association (AHA) course

Preferred Qualifications

Post secondary diploma or higherExperience with application of adult learning principles

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification Summary

Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor and PALS Instructor certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrates presentation and group facilitation skills.Skill, knowledge, and experience in the areas of communication, organization, and teaching.Proficiency in working audio-visual equipment.Demonstrates ability to work with all levels of employees to identify learning strengths and opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

Provides quality instruction, support, and guidance to employees and/or the community in the learning process of basic life support and/or pediatric advanced life support.Completes required AHA course documentation which could include documenting in Children's Learning Management System.Works collaboratively with course director and other instructors in appropriate classroom set-up and clean up.Supports the institution's educational needs by maintaining high standards of professionalism, dependability, and responsibility.Achieves and maintains AHA instructor requirements according to the AHA and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Training Center Guidelines.
