Your team is bigger than your department: UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center includes a 48-bed inpatient hospital, 14 outpatient therapy clinics, 11 cardiopulmonary rehabilitation clinics and nine Olympic fitness centers, with access to some of the most advanced therapy techniques and care available. Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for members, guests and patients using the aquatics facility. Welcomes all users upon entering the aquatics area. Assists the aquatics manager in monitoring the pool environment to ensure that all local health codes are met. Monitors user activity within the aquatics area to ensure their safety. Upholds facility rules and regulations to maintain a safe and pleasing environment for all users. Facilitates appropriate member activities including lap swim, proper lane usage and spa usage. Maintains the facility and equipment including fitness equipment, surfaces, lane ropes and pump room equipment. Tests and appropriately adjusts all pool water chemistry. Attends all regularly scheduled staff meetings and participates in required training Qualifications Job Requirements: High School diploma or GED American Red Cross Lifeguard Training American Red Cross Community First Aid and Safety American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer or the equivalent certification Preferred Experience: 12 months lifeguard experience
