Camp Lifeguard  Full Job Description  Malvern Day Camp (MDC) Camp Lifeguards are responsible for teaching swim lessons, guarding the pool ensuring safety of all people in the pool area (including children 5-14 years old) and learning the procedures to maintain the cleanliness and up keep of the pool facility.  The hours of this full-time, seasonal position are from 8:15am-4:15pm*, Monday through Friday. Malvern Day Camp runs from May 19th to mid August 2025. There will be mandatory training dates before camp begins.    Opportunities exist for additional compensation to work extended day program before or after regular camp hours.    Benefits of Working at Camp:    Work in an active and professional environment with both indoor and outdoor facilities.  Gain hands-on experience working with children in a structured setting.  Develop new relationships with peers  Gain knowledge through mentoring with Camp Directors  Make a difference in the campers’ summer experience  Become a child's hero.  Learn leadership skills.  Competitive Wages    Responsibilities    Responsible for lifeguarding and ensuring safety of all people in and out of pool  Enforce all pool rules  Know and understand each swimming skill level and the skills that are taught  Teach swim lessons to children ages 4-9 with different ability levels  Work effectively with other lifeguards and take turns with various responsibilities.  Serve as a positive role model to campers    Requirements:    Current Lifeguard Certification  Previous lifeguard experience (preferred)  Previous experience working with children  Previous experience teaching swim lessons (preferred)  Follow and maintain all Malvern Day Camp policies and procedures  Minimum of 18 years of age      Required upon hire    Completed Background Checks (FBI, Child Abuse, Criminal, NSOR)  Willingness to complete additional training (Mandated reporting, First Aid/CPR, Water Safety, Health and Safety Basics, and other DHS required file items)
